Longevity is obviously not a virtue but a capacity to understand the thoughts of people much younger and emerging from variform background.
The fulfilled life of our FATHER, A MENTOR, AN ICON AND A LEGEND late ELDER FAGBORUN REUBEN AKANFE as chronicled by the barrage of testimonies from people, and His personality shaping mirror for Christians across the globe and His will undoubtedly inspire people to goodworks.
May God uphold the family ,friends and the church to bear the irreplaceable loss described as acutely heartrending!

Daddy, you are just success to our generation and me in person –
who has lived well, laughed often and loved much;
who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of children;
who has filled his niche and accomplished his task;
who leaves the world better than he found it;
who has never lacked appreciation of earth’s beauty or failed to express it;
who looked for the best in others and gave the best he had.
I know that your good work will follow you and speak for you.
God be the families and friends that you left behind.
I’ll miss you, even am already missing you.
Death did not allow us to eat ripe cola nut. 😕 😕 it’s well.

I met grandpa….and I was surprised with the kind of warm welcome I got. They don’t know me from anywhere but always free with me. He used to joke and talk to me then, sometimes, telling stories. I was going to come see you that day, but all is written. Grandpa, we all love you, but God loves you more. You will surely be missed dearly. Rest on daddy, cos you are now in the presence of the Lord.

I would like to express my most sincere sadness at the passing of your father Elder Reuben Akanfe Fagborun . In this time of great sorrow, please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
While your Daddy sudden departure hurts, I hope you can take comfort in the fact that father is with God now. Your Dad, Elder Reuben Akanfe Fagborun lives on not only in memories, but with our heavenly Father as well.
In time like this take solace in the scripture
Ecclesiastes 3
To everything
there is a season,
a time for every
matter under heaven;
a time to be born,
and a time to die;
a time to plant,
and a time to pluck
up what is planted;
a time to weep,
and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn,
and a time to dance;
a time to keep,
and a time to cast away.
I never had the opportunity to meet Papa but knowing Engineer Temitayo Fagborun is a reflection of who you are. Like Yoruba adage ..” Omo ajanaku kii yàrá, omo eya ba bi eya nijo. He speaks volume of what you lived for .Sleep on Elder Reuben Akanfe Fagborun till resurrection morning.

Pa Fagborun, a brother turned friend, a friend turned in-law, and a in-law turned father, you are such an amazing father, lovely and always an inspiration to anyone and everyone that encounters you.
You are a lover of God, a praying believer to the call, I could still remember how you recite Bible off head.
With pa Fagborun around you, you will build faith, confidence to face your fhaears.
With Pa Fagborun, you will definitely learn something new either orthodox or modern. Pa, is a very versatile dad embodiment of knowledge and always open to learning.
It a shock when we heard about your demise, we all couldn’t bear this significant loss from amidst us,lo only God can fix the great damage.
We will forever be grateful to God for sending you our way.
You will forever live on in our hearts.
Live on pa Fagborun. Till we meet at Jesus feet.

to know you’re not here with us
for the rest of our lives.Family parties and dinners won’t be the same cause you won’t be there.There’s going to be that empty chair near that dinner table where it’s going to be empty and cold.You are a man that gave us
inspiration and courage
to achieve our goals.
You told us our rights from wrong

A TRIBUTE TO AN ACADEMIC ICON, LATE ELDER REUBEN FAGBORUN
Our dear father,
I have battled with this reality for days now and still find it very hard to believe that you are gone.
You had been my academic father, and mentor. Your untimely demise was too sudden and shocking to me. Your demise was an eclipse at noon; it is still incredible and bewildering.
A great custodian of knowledge and standard, a great reservoir of Afrocentric values and stance;
A defender of the weak and the oppressed;
I sorely miss your reassuring, assertive speeches
I miss your candour and encouragement
We miss your lively lectures, conversations and debates
Your friends and followers are weeping
Your fans wish to have you back but God knows the best
Adieu, The Man of the people
Adieu, The Academician

LINGERING IMAGES OF MY BROTHER
What a memory verse
What a separation of body and spirit
What a journey long unreturned
One day we may meet again if family members do meet
If not, our stay together was memorable enough
As the only two Fagborun brothers in one school
One older, the other younger
The older must have been holding the hands of the younger
Holding them tight to cross a deep river
There is no gainsaying this
People MANY must have asked of one from the other now and then
We did together what we could
The same mat, the same bed, the same food …
We held secrets that we could hold
You will always remain in my mind forever for many things
You made for me two birth-years but one birthday
You removed four from yours and helped me cut off four from mine
You even helped me signed and paid for it to be documented
Who will forget a stunning thing like this?
You thereby bracketed our ages both, making 1952 the most significant
I did not know why you did this
I knew not why I took it willingly either
If I did not accept, maybe, I would not be where I am today
Well done, brother for what Eternal One led you to do
That remains a secret
But not to my family
They, at times, get confused about my birth-year
May God Protect the family you left behind.

TRIBUTE WRITTEN BY ABDUL WAKEEL AKINYELE BELLO ON THE DEMISE OF REUBEN AKANFE OLU FAGBORUN. 1952-2021 (69 YEARS)
Reuben Olufisayo Fagborun, was a coursemate, roommate, bossom friend, and a confidant
We met as far back 1972 at the Institute of Agricultural Research and Training, Akure for our National diploma programme.
Anytime we were given assignment in class that required textbooks, Fisayo as being called by me, would go to the Akure township to buy the books for us before loaning out to other classmates. As a lover of books, i gave him the alias “MR
LIBRARY”. Both members of “KUBANO” brothers, a
social club,we would ride on bicycle to Akure,to drink palm wine When he called me at the hospital, I quickly rushed down,but, couldn’t withstand the pain he was passing through. We discussed at length, not knowing it was a valedictory discussion.
